About CleanLinkr
CleanLinkr is a simple tool that helps you remove tracking junk from URLs.
Whether you’re sharing an article, posting a product link, or just saving something for later, CleanLinkr strips out parameters like utm_source, fbclid, and gclid so your links stay clean, readable, and private.
No tracking. No fluff. Just the link, the way it was meant to be.
Why We Built It
The web is full of invisible baggage. Links are loaded with tracking parameters so companies can follow you across the internet. We think that sucks.
CleanLinkr was built to:
- Make links more shareable and professional
- Cut out hidden tracking mechanisms
- Help people understand what’s really in a URL
It started as a scratch-your-own-itch project. We wanted something fast, transparent, and respectful; no hidden scripts, no bloat.
How It Works
- You paste a messy URL.
- CleanLinkr removes known tracking parameters (like
utm_*,fbclid,ref, etc.). - We optionally fetch a preview of the page (title, description, image) so you know what you’re sharing.
- You copy the cleaned link to share however you like.
We don’t store your URLs (other than caching). We don’t log your IP. And we don’t sell anything behind your back.
Ad Disclosure
CleanLinkr exists to reduce online tracking, so yes, we get the irony of showing ads.
To keep the site free and sustainable, we may display advertisements. However we’re very intentional about how we do it:
- We avoid invasive ad networks whenever possible.
- We prefer partners that are privacy-conscious and cookie-light (e.g. Carbon Ads, EthicalAds).
- Ads are never based on your behavior across the web.
- We don’t set cookies, and we don’t track you.
If we ever change this approach, we’ll let you know. Transparency comes first.
